เอ็ดเวิร์ด ดักลาส @EDouglasWW โปรดิวเซอร์และนักวิจารณ์หนังชื่อดัง เผยรายชื่อหนัง นักแสดง และผู้กำกับที่น่าจะถูกเสนอเข้าชิงรางวัลออสการ์ 2014 ก่อนที่รายชื่อผู้เข้าชิงฉบับของแท้แน่นอนจะเปิดเผยออกมา 16 มกราคมนี้
เมื่อวันที่ 10 มกราคม 2557 เว็บไซต์คัมมิ่งซูน ซึ่งเป็นเว็บไซต์เกี่ยวกับภาพยนตร์ ได้เปิดเผยรายชื่อหนัง นักแสดง และผู้กำกับที่ฉายแววถูกเสนอชื่อเข้าชิงรางวัลออสการ์ 2014 โดยรายชื่อเหล่านี้ ได้รับการคาดเดาจาก เอ็ดเวิร์ด ดักลาส โปรดิวเซอร์และนักวิจารณ์หนังชื่อดัง เขาได้พิจารณาความเป็นไปได้จากหนังที่ถูกจับตามองและได้รับการเสนอชื่อรับรางวัลจากเวทีต่าง ๆ มาแล้ว ไม่ว่าจะเป็น รางวัลลูกโลกทองคำ, รางวัล Critics\' Choice Awards, รางวัล SAG Awards, รางวัล PAG Awards, รางวัล DAG Awards, รางวัล WAG Awards เป็นต้น และรายชื่อที่ฉายแววว่าจะถูกเสนอเข้าชิงรางวัลออสการ์ประจำปี 2013 ได้แก่
